Ventured out all the way to Richmond Hill under a suggestion from a friend. The Host has award-winning tandoori chicken awarded from Toronto Life so that of course was on the trial list. Let’s get right into the review shall we?
Garlic Naan: Delicious fluffy naan that has a beautiful crust on the bottom from the tandoori ovens. A little warning, they add quite a generous helping of garlic on their naan so make sure that its something you like.
Pakora Platter: a variety of different pakoras laid out on the plate. My favourites were the palak pakora (made out of spinach) and aloo pakora (made out of potato). This is such a satisfying snack that goes beautifully with the two chutneys that they provide- one of them is a tamarind chutney.
Tandoori Murgh: The award winning tandoori chicken comes sizzling hot to your table. Seasoning was on point with a undertone from the yogurt used to make the chicken. My only problem with this dish was it wasn’t the slight bit piquant, probably because I was the only non-South Asian person there and they were trying to be considerate. But hey, this girl likes to get her spice on.
Paneer Tawa Masala: Creamy and tender pieces of paneer along with a medley of fresh vegetables in a spiced gravy which is quite satisfying considering it is a vegetarian dish.
Lovely ambiance with great food and service, I’ll definitely be back again (and ask for a spicier tandoori murgh).
Until we dine again,
