Hey everyone! As the summer is slowly winding down, you might want to grab all of your summer treats now before it gets cooler. Here’s a perfect place to try that is uptown in Markham!
Wooffles & Cream is located at 8360 Kennedy Rd, right inside the food court of New Kennedy Square. Specializing in egg waffles and soft serve ice cream, this place is one of the perfect spots to pop by for a sweet and delicious treat. Egg waffles, made by a special iron consisting of two plates that create a sphere when combined, have been popular in Hong Kong for a very long time. Often purchased as a snack on the go, egg waffles are usually made on the spot and served warm.
The store’s menu has a variety of options. They serve both regular and specialty wooffles, two flavours of soft serve ice cream, parfaits and Italian sodas. Above all, everything is prepared right in front of you – so you definitely know you’ll be receiving a fresh and crispy batch of egg waffles!
Desserts I tried:
The first item I tried was the original egg waffle paired with some soft serve ice cream. Since the egg waffles were freshly made, it was warm, crispy and fresh! I also ordered it along with the regular twist (matcha green tea and vanilla) soft serve. The ice cream was thick and very smooth in texture. I was surprised how strong the matcha taste was, but at same time, didn’t overpower the taste of the vanilla soft serve. Overall, I was very satisfied with this dessert – all of the flavours complimented one another, and I didn’t find the dessert to be overwhelmingly sweet. I would definitely order this treat again!
I also bought another order of one of their regular waffles – the black ‘n’ white sesame egg waffles. Sesame seeds were spread out into the waffle iron before the batter was poured into it. When finished, each part of the egg waffle consisted of an even amount of the topping. I liked how the sesame seeds brought a slight kick but didn’t change the overall taste of the egg waffle. Surprisingly, this egg waffle was not messy to eat! Just thinking about it makes me want to grab another one!
Definitely a huge thumbs up to Wooffles & Cream! They surpassed all of my expectations that I had. Be sure to pop by this location at Kennedy and Hwy 7 if you’re ever craving a sweet treat that will no doubt make your mouth water!
